What is Skin Needling?

Skin Needling, also known as Microneedling or Collagen Induction Therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that promotes smoother, firmer, and more even-toned skin. Using a medical-grade device with fine, sterile needles, it creates micro-channels on the skin’s surface, stimulating a natural healing response and boosting collagen and elastin production.

At OC Skin, every session is customised by our trained professionals to target your specific skin concerns. Whether you’re focused on acne scarring, signs of ageing, or pigmentation issues, Skin Needling offers a safe and effective path to revitalised skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Can I Expect During the Procedure?

We start with a topical numbing cream to ensure comfort. Your clinician will then use a microneedling device across the treatment area. The session typically lasts 30–60 minutes depending on the area being treated.

Is There Any Downtime?

Mild redness, warmth, and swelling similar to a sunburn, is common and usually settles within 24–72 hours. Most clients resume normal activities the next day, though it’s best to avoid makeup, sweat and heat or intense sun exposure for at least 24–48 hours.

In some cases, light peeling may occur a few days post-treatment as the skin regenerates, this is a normal part of the healing process and usually resolves within a week.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

For best results, we recommend a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. This may vary based on your skin goals and response.

Is Skin Needling Suitable for All Skin Types?

Yes, microneedling is generally safe for most skin types. However, it may not be recommended for those with active acne, eczema, rosacea, or if you’re pregnant. A consultation with our team will confirm if this treatment is right for you.

What Post-procedure Care is Required?

You’ll need to avoid sun exposure, heat, sweat, makeup, and active skincare ingredients (like retinol or acids) for a few days. Your OC Skin specialist will provide personalised aftercare guidance to support healing and maximise results.
