Morpheus8 is a Radio Frequency (RF) micro-needling treatment that stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. Morpheus8 can be used on any area that can benefit from sub-dermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck, targeting the jowls, nasolabial folds and skin laxity in the neck.
Areas of the face and body that exhibit wrinkles, discoloration, stretch marks or acne scarring are also suitable for treatment.
Depending on your area of concern and your Morpheus8 regime, 2-3 sessions would be recommended two to four weeks apart for maximum results.
The benefit of Morpheus8’s colour blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker skin tones to be treated.
This treatment is recommended for anyone that wants to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin laxity and complexion. It is also beneficial to people with superficial scars, newly formed stretch marks, enlarged pores, pigmentation and sunburns.
One week prior to treatment, you will need to avoid intentional sun tanning and wear sunscreen on the area to be treated whilst outdoors.
You should discontinue any irritant topical agents for 2-3 days prior to treatment such as AHA, BHA, Retinol.
We also recommend that you avoid anticoagulants such as aspirin throughout the treatment regimen if medical condition permits and pertinent to physician approval. Anticoagulants/ Fish oil increase the possibility of bruising.
A one-on-one consultation is scheduled with our skin therapist to discuss your areas of concern as well as your relevant medical history. We then work together to create a customised treatment plan to help you achieve your skin goals. Often, this procedure is combined with other in clinic skin treatments to obtain optimal results.
To allow for a higher degree of application and depending on the area being treated, numbing cream is advisable, although some discomfort may still be experienced. Using an ice pack will also assist in providing relief during and after the procedure.
A moisturiser will be applied in clinic immediately after the procedure as well as sunscreen for unexpected sun exposure during the day.
Morpheus8 is a non-invasive treatment so the downtime is usually quite minimal. Immediately post treatment, you can expect slight redness and swelling on the treated areas.
You should expect to see micro lesions appear a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.
Most patients are fine to go about their routine daily activities immediately after the procedure.
Make-up may be applied 1 to 2 days post treatment.
Avoid heat inducing activities for 24-48 hours post treatment including hot baths,massages, sun and UV exposure, scratching, excessive sweating etc.
Apply a bland or clinic recommended moisturiser on the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. We also recommended that you use a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen every day if the area is exposed to direct sunlight.
The cost of treatment varies depending on the area treated and the number of sessions required, 2 or 3 is recommended. As each patient’s skin concerns are varied,we recommended that you combine this procedure with other forms of in clinic treatment for optimal results.
